In order to mark Predella House’s 1st Birthday celebrations, they are delighted to announce ‘A Futuristic Woman’, a group show by four female artists: Natasha Nejman, Iona Rowland, Sara Pope, and Kate Bellm.
Although the artists incorporate imagery of women in their work, the exhibition is not clinched purely by gender; the works of the artists’ share a punchy aesthetic, with neon brights, eye-catching forms, and exciting themes and subject matters. Themes of the spectacle, psychoanalysis, sexuality, beauty, fashion, and femininity are examined by the artists.
Iona Rowland - Iona Rowland’s individuality lies in her artwork’s ability to deconstruct, reconstruct, and abstract the surfaces of the fashion industry, whilst examining the industry’s symbiotic relationship with sexuality.
Sara Pope - Best known for her seductive celebrity lips with sensuous colours, attractive boldness and high-shine gloss, Sara Pope takes much of her inspiration from commercialism, consumerism and the media. The artist returns to lips as a theme to explore symbols of femininity, yet also a communicator of language.
Kate Bellm - Having published works in fashion magazines from Vogue UK, Esquire, Vice and Tatler, Kate Bellm’s colourful and lively photography captures the female body.
Natasha Nejman - ‘A Futuristic Woman’ will feature predominantly limited edition prints from the multidisciplinary artist. Nejman has a penchant for surrealism, taking natural forms and images, such as flowers or the body, to explore psychological concepts.
