On the 20th of December Onnury Oh will be taking over The Square Gallery with an exciting exhibition entitled, 'I Will Be Waiting For One'. Oh is a practicing visual artist, who is currently based in Kingston upon Thames. Oh received a BA degree in Graphic Design from Seoul Institute of the Art in Korea in 2012. In 2016, she is studying a Masters of Art and Space at Kingston University. Oh works with photography, painting, drawing, installation and collage works.
The artist's ultimate goal is to comfort people by communicating with them. She is interested in and studying about relationships between people and people. Also, she is concerned about invisible ‘movement’ in relationships between people. Oh is trying to observe and describe the movement and reflect this in her art works. For example, her work, ‘Invisible Colours’, 2016 has expressed the invisible space between people and people with various colours and shapes.
The series of art works, ‘ I Will Be Waiting For One’ would like to say about what people are waiting for. The artist thinks that everyone is waiting and wishing, and that it encourages our life. Therefore, she uses the moving and mixed circle shapes to show that hope and desire are moving and making a step forward.
The Exhibition will be open daily from 12-6pm from the 20th of December until the 23rd of December.
